Woodley Town Council

waste and recycling

Recycling centres will reopen with new safety measures from 8am on Monday 18 May.

The centres will be open every day between 8am and 6pm however this is only a limited opening.

Do not visit the recycling centre if you have COVID-19 symptoms.

Residents will need to book to be able to visit our recycling centres at Longshot Lane, Bracknell, or Smallmead, Reading. Resident’s won’t be allowed to enter unless they have booked an online slot. If all slots are booked more will be available from midnight for the next available day. We recommend that you bring a copy of your booking confirmation with you but you do not need to print the confirmation email to access the site. Your vehicle registration plate will be checked against our data

Bookings should only be made if a visit is essential. If your waste can safely be stored at home it should be.

Social distancing rules will apply – keep a distance of 2m while at any centre. Only a limited amount of vehicles will be allowed on the site at any one time and there will be limited interaction with staff (who will be unable to assist with unloading waste). Display your proof of address through closed windows and use contactless payment. Double bag contaminated waste, sort your waste before setting out for efficiency, travel alone if you can handle the waste on your own and remember to wash your hands before and after your visit (there will be no hand washing facilities at the centres).

Find out more about the rules and the new temporary booking system by visiting the  re3 waste and recycling centres website.
