Clubmark Award for Woodley Westcoast Sports Club

Woodley Westcoast Sports Club, which provides opportunities for young people aged 10 -16 with additional needs to receive coaching and take part in competitive sports, has been running for approximately 10 months now and recently achieved Clubmark Status. Clubmark is an accreditation scheme for clubs with junior sections and is built around a set of core criteria to show clubs operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted operating standards. We are very proud that the club has achieved this status and thanks go to the team, particularly Jennie Farrow, for their work on this.

Over the past few months club members have completed coaching sessions in football, tag rugby and golf with competitions arranged at the end of each coaching session. All members of the club showed how much they had improved in these sports with new skills which they were able to use and demonstrate in the competition weeks. All the children were awarded medals and certificates for their achievements.

The club runs at Woodford Park Leisure Centre on Tuesdays during term time from 4.30 – 5.30 pm. This term the club starts up again on 15 September.
