The play area on the Memorial Ground (to the rear of the Oakwood Centre) was closed during the weekend of 1-3 December, while essential repairs and replacement of steps and panels was being carried out.
It is now re-open, while the play area near the leisure centre is also open as usual.

Woodley Town Council is aware of the delay installing the public toilet in Woodley town centre and apologises for the delay.
A highways application for the works to install the public toilet has been sent to Wokingham Borough Council. Once the Borough Council agrees a date and time when the work can be carried out, a Temporary Traffic Order/Road Closure will be submitted.
Following the installation of the public toilet, electricity, water and sewer connections will be arranged for a mutually agreeable date.

The minutes of the last meeting of the Woodley and North Earley Community Forum, whose remit is to work with the police to identify and address issues in the area, are available HERE.
The next meetings of the forum will be held on Wednesday 5 December 2018 and Wednesday 6 February 2019 at 19.30 at the Oakwood Centre, Headley Road.
All local residents are very welcome to attend.

Over two thousand local residents gathered at Woodley Memorial Recreation Ground on Sunday 11 November, to commemorate 100 years since the end of WWI and to remember those who have fallen.
Woodley Town Council and St John the Evangelist Church led a commemoration service and were joined by Woodley Army and Air Cadets and the 5th Woodley Scouts, who all marched to the Memorial across Woodford Park.
The Exhortation to the Fallen was read by a member of the Army Cadets, while the Kohima Epitaph was read by Town Councillor Brian Franklin. The Rolls of Honour of both World Wars were read by St John’s parishioner David Crane, followed by a prayer led by Rev Eddie Márquez-Picón, of St John’s. The laying of wreaths was led by Woodley Town Mayor, Councillor Sam Rahmouni.
Following the commemoration, tea, coffee and cake was served in the Oakwood Centre by Woodley Central WI, with cakes donated by the team, Addington School and Richard Lloyd Funeral Services. Music, poetry and footage from WWI, as well as a display of WWI images provided by Museum of Berkshire Aviation was also available at the Centre, alongside work from local schools and local Girl Guides. Woodley Flower Club donated beautiful flower displays, while Woodley Carnival Committee provided additional support.
The Council has been delighted to receive very positive feedback about the day and would like to extend its thanks to all those who attended and contributed.
Prior to the event, local Woodley schools held a memorial service at the Woodley Memorial Recreation Ground on Friday 9 November, accompanied by Woodley Town Mayor Sam Rahmouni and Deputy Mayor David Stares.
Separately, MP for Reading East, Matt Rodda paid his respects at Woodley’s Memorial on Tuesday 13 November, joined by Woodley Council Leader Keith Baker. Unfortunately, Mr Rodda had been unable to attend the memorial in Woodley on Sunday 11 November due to a prior commitment at the remembrance event in Reading.
The memorial gates have been cleaned and redesigned with extra additions to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War and to remember those who have fallen.
The Council has also put up some panels detailing the history of WWI in Woodley, with stories of local soldiers who fought in WWI.
Current scheduled roadworks for the Woodley area as advised by Wokingham Borough Council, up to and including 16th November. This list does not include unscheduled emergency roadworks.

Woodley schools will be gathering at the Woodley Memorial Recreation Ground on Headley Road on Friday 9th November for a Remembrance event and to acknowledge 100 years since the end of WWI.
Joined by Woodley Town Mayor Sam Rahmouni and Deputy Town Mayor David Stares, the children will gather at 10.45 and mark the event with a minutes silence at 11.00, followed by laying of wreaths on the war memorial.
