Waste Consultation

Wokingham Borough Council (WBC) has launched a consultation to seek Wokingham Borough residents’ views on potential changes to its rubbish and recycling collections that could see the borough’s weekly general rubbish and recycling collections change to be more in line with the majority of local authorities in the country.

Due to unprecedented financial pressures, new government legislation and the Council’s climate emergency goals, WBC has had to change how it collects residents’ rubbish and recycling, and wants to know how the potential changes would affect everyone.

The consultation outlines two options on how often rubbish and recycling are collected. Both options would require the introduction of wheeled bins for general rubbish. The consultation is open until 5 December 2022.

For help completing the survey online, call the customer services team on (0118) 974 6000 or visit one of the borough’s libraries. Help taking the online survey is available over the phone or in person, and paper and electronic copies (PDF format) are also available on request.
