Pilates Courses

Pilates is series a body conditioning exercises that look to build flexibility, muscle strength and endurance. The exercises look to place emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing and developing a strong core or centre. Over the duration of our courses the progressive exercises will aim to improve your muscle tone, flexibility, posture and balance.

Yoga Courses
Our Tuesday evening Yoga courses help to improve strength, flexibility and balance. Focus is placed on alignment and subtle adjustments to aid in developing better posture with an aim to improve overall wellbeing. Classes are friendly and are ideal for those new to yoga, but also still suitable for more experienced students. Each class finishes with a short relaxation exercise allowing you to take some peace and wellbeing home with you.

Body Balance™
Ideal for anyone and everyone, Body Balance is the yoga based class that will improve your mind, your body and your life! During Body Balance an inspired soundtrack plays as you bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves and embrace elements of Tai Chi and Pilates. Body Balance Flex sessions focus more on yoga based exercises whilst Body Balance Strong sessions are geared a little more towards a Pilates and core focussed workout.

Circuits

Circuits is a high intensity exercise class that uses elements of aerobics and muscle strengthening activities to give you a well rounded full body workout. Everyone begins at a “station” and, after completing the exercise described there for a set amount of time, attendees will move round to the next exercise in the circuit. Circuit training is fully adaptable to the individual and a great class for those looking for variety in their exercise programme!

Zumba
This Latin inspired dance workout is one of the most popular group exercise classes in the world! Zumba combines moves used in various Latin dances, such as salsa and samba, to provide exciting, rhythmical exercise routines that are loads of fun and great for your cardiovascular health. The high energy levels and upbeat music are just two more of the ingredients that make Zumba the ultimate dance party!

Boxercise

Boxercise is a popular and fast paced exercise class that is based on the training concepts boxers use to keep fit. Classes are suitable for both men and women of any ability and are great for burning off any excess pounds! Attendees will learn eight different punches as well as many different combinations. No class involves the direct physical hitting of an opponent, making Boxercise a fun, challenging and safe work out resulting in a leaner and fitter you!

Silver Circuits
This simple exercise class is ideal for those looking for a gentle route back into exercise following a period of inactivity, injury or illness. Classes are low intensity and participants are encouraged to work at their own comfortable pace. Our friendly and experienced instructor will help guide you around the circuit and will happily answer any questions about the exercises if needed.

Functional Fitness
‘Functional Fitness’ classes involve full body movements designed to target several muscle groups simultaneously to improve strength, stamina and balance. The classes include exercises linked to squatting, lunging, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting and other day to day actions with an aim to make this class as functional as possible!

Legs, Bums & Tums

Our ‘Legs, Bums and Tums’ classes are a fun filled way to help tone those wobbly bits! This short and sharp class offers a full body aerobic workout that aims to tone up those flabby areas of your thighs, bum and stomach, great for those who want to lose weight or even for those who simply want to improve their fitness levels.
Thursday 10:00am – 10:25am £3.50 (HH member) or £4.00 (non member) per class

Body Conditioning
A whole body workout that will help you on your way to getting in shape and feeling great about your body. Focusing on strength, muscular endurance and fitness conditioning, these classes will help to develop a strong and toned physique. Classes involve a high energy, high impact workout and typically a combination of aerobics and toning.

Aerobics
Aerobics combines rhythmic dance exercise to music with stretching routines for a cardiovascular workout that will leave you feeling great! This high energy class will help boost your energy levels, improve your endurance and help you lose weight!

Afternoon Club (50+)

Our over 50’s Afternoon Club has been running for over 15 years and offers our customers a choice or combination of badminton and table tennis all for a set charge. The club is perfect for those looking to continue or become more physically active in a highly sociable and friendly environment. To top it all off, we provide tea and coffee along with a small selection of biscuits in our viewing gallery after every session at no extra cost.

Boot Camp!

Come and join in our new Boot Camp classes. These classes are focused on getting you to put as much effort in as possible. We use a whole body approach looking to burn as many calories as you can. These sessions are 45 minutes of high intensity intervals designed to kick your metabolism into action resulting in more effective weight loss.

Tai Chi
A slow, gentle and flowing series of movements that exercise the body as well as the mind. Tai Chi helps us to become more aware of our psychological, emotional and spiritual self. The growing awareness of breath, body and mind that comes with practice means that Tai Chi becomes a “moving meditation” that can positively help with stress management.

Zumba Gold
Zumba Gold takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of all, including those just beginning their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. What stays the same are all the elements the Zumba fitness-party is known for: the zesty Latin music, the exhilarating easy-to-follow moves and the invigorating party-like atmosphere. Active older adults want excitement and fitness as a regular part of their weekly schedule. Zumba Gold is the perfect fit. It’s a dance-fitness class that feels friendly and fun.

Combat Tone
Punch and kick your way to fitness in this low impact (and non-contact!) toning and conditioning class! Inspired by a range of mixed martial arts this class will include a variety of punches, kicks and knee strikes set to motivating music. You will enjoy an empowering full body workout that will help chisel the core without a sit up in sight! No equipment required and all fitness levels are welcome.

Power Hour

These classes focus on strength, muscular endurance and purposeful fitness conditioning. Sessions will use light weights to help develop a strong and toned physique for an all-round total body workout that will push you as hard as you want to be pushed!
